Takoma Park Friends Meeting-(Preparative) gathered on 8/17/2025 in the library of the Takoma Park Presbyterian Church, following meeting for worship.
We heard and discussed queries from Baltimore Yearly Meeting Faith and Practice on Outreach.
The treasurer’s report for the period 12/1/2024 to 8/17/2025 was presented and accepted (attached).
We considered the budget for the fiscal year ending Nov. 30, 2026 on first reading and discussed the idea of using a portion of the John Knoght bequest to balance the budget.
We nominated Tricia Crocker to serve as treasurer for the fiscal year ending Nov. 30, 2026, on first reading and decided to create a position of assistant to the treasurer if a volunteer can be found.
We considered gifts to community groups for the current budget year on first reading. The total is $1,300, and it would be allocated to six groups, with $200 each to the four groups supported last year, $250 to CASA, and $250 to Meals on Wheels.
We heard and approved these minutes. We adjourned, to gather next on September 21, 2025, or at the call of the presiding clerk.
