Takoma Park Friends Meeting-Preparative gathered on 11/24/2019 at the Dance Exchange in Takoma Park, Maryland.
We heard queries from Baltimore Yearly Meeting Faith and Practice on the environment. We heard of the need to be attentive to living simply and sharing resources with others less privileged, as well as monetary and other challenges in doing so.
Tricia Crocker, treasurer, handed out copies of the treasurer’s report for the month (attached). We accepted the report.
We learned that Adelphi Friends Meetings approved our FY 2020 budget as well as Tricia Crocker’s service as Treasurer at its most recent business meeting.
In the context of first reading of service for 2020, we decided to continue the Farmer’s Market gleaning project and to add a web maintainer.
As previously determined, meeting for worship will be held in the library of Takoma Park Presbyterian Church beginning December 1, at 11:30 a.m. We directed our Adelphi liaison to ask Adelphi trustees to sign the space use contract with the church on our behalf.
We discussed design of our sandwich sign, which is used at festivals and to direct people to our worship service, and approved a wording.
We heard and approved these minutes. We adjourned, to gather next on 12/15/2019 at the rise of meeting, or at the call of the presiding clerk.
