Takoma Park Friends Meeting-Preparative minutes, 10/18/2026

  • Started with silence

  • Set of queries from BYM faith and practice

  • Mary Jane responded to the query about aggression by asking how to confront aggression in a non aggressive way

  • Arthur David Olson responded to the query about eliminating aggression by saying that it is effective for him to cultivate patience

  • Two schools of thought for approving minutes, during the meeting, or next meeting

  • Treasurer is away but has given budget report 

  • Slightly behind on donations; 82% of budgeted so far

  • Expenses relatively complete

  • Rent and YM apportionment still outstanding

  • Budget report accepted

  • Approved the minutes

 

  • Adelphi had first reading for Susan Rogers as treasurer

  • Normal practice to have two readings

  • Approved

 

  • Second reading of budget

  • No changes, questions, concerns, or comments

  • Slightly adjusted to reflect all money from last month

  • Budget is balanced, more gifts to community groups

  • Budget approved, Adelphi has final approval

  • Minutes approved

 

  • Mary Jane asked if Quakers had tried to connect with Thomas Banyacya or have tried to connect with his family

  • Next business meeting on the 15th of next month (November)

  • Minutes approved

  • Closed with silence
