Takoma Park Friends Meeting-Preparative gathered on 7/18/2021 through a Zoom audio/video connection.
We heard queries from Baltimore Yearly Meeting Faith and Practice on caring for others. We heard that negative judgments can be difficult to overcome, perhaps especially where those judgments are based on fact.
Tricia Crocker, treasurer, presented the budget-year-to-date treasurer’s report for the period 12/1/2020 to 7/18/2021 (attached). We accepted the report.
The spiritual state of the meeting report has been accepted by Adelphi Friends Meeting.
We considered proposed amounts for giving to community groups. We approved funding four groups at $120 each: CASA de Maryland, Maryland Alliance for Justice Reform, Scholar Chips, and Shepherd’s Table, and perhaps to add another group later.
We heard and approved these minutes. We adjourned, to gather next on August 15, 2021, at 1:30, or at the call of the presiding clerk.
