Takoma Park Friends Meeting-Preparative gathered on 11/21/2021 at the Takoma Park Presbyterian Church after rise of meeting for worship.
We heard and discussed queries from Baltimore Yearly Meeting Faith and Practice on education.
Tricia Crocker, treasurer, presented the budget-year-to-date treasurer’s report for the period 12/1/2020 to 11/21/2021 (attached). The report will be revised in due course to include the few days remaining in the fiscal year. We accepted the report. We decided for the treasurer to continue in her position pending approval of Adelphi Friends Meeting and to continue paying expenses ;ending approval of Adelphi Friends Meeting.
We considered a charge for community group liaison on first reading, as follows:
The community group liaison handles communications between the meeting and the community groups the meeting supports financially. The liaison also keeps the meeting informed of the activities of community groups of interest.
We had a first reading of service positions for the meeting for calendar 2022 (except for Treasurer, which has already been approved).
We decided to switch the time for online meeting for worship to Sunday evenings at 7:30 (starting in one week) and to continue an outdoor meeting in person Thursdays at 3:00 in clement weather.
We had an initial discussion about a gathering on Jan. 9, and decided to hold a poll to see what interest there was in an in person gathering or if people preferred online.
We heard and approved these minutes. We adjourned, to gather next on December 19, 2021, at the rise of meeting, or at the call of the presiding clerk.
